'black+white=mccabe' art show

Friday, October 3rd, was the opening/artist's reception for John's latest art (oil, graphite, and ink) held at the Clausen Museum. He had a fine crowd, although many friends are away. The show will be up until Oct. 23rd. This was the first time he's offered his work for sale and was pleased that a number of paintings (seven at this time) sold. The show was divided into two sections ~ the entry held his newest work and the back room held paintings from previous years.

John had a special guest attend the show coming all the way from Big Lake, AK. Thursday, in the late afternoon, he answered knocking on the door to find his oldest daughter standing there! It was a total surprise to both of us and a very welcomed one.He said, "Jennifer, what are you doing here?" She answered, "I heard there was an art show in Petersburg and I though I would come!" I thought it was the Girl Scouts selling cookies or the neighbors returning a book. Then as the quiet voices entered the living room John called out for me. Being a good housewife (hehehe) I was busy cleaning in the bathroom; coming around the corner I let out a huge scream when I saw Jennifer!  She will be visiting until Monday; thank goodness the weather is clear and coldish. It's been about 10 years since her last visit and she has enjoyed discovering all the changes in town.
